What type of person trains in Crutchfield's Hawaiian Kenpo?
All types! Adults love Crutchfield’s for all the reasons listed above. We have individuals who train solely for self-defense and students who train to participate in semi and full contact tournaments - and for everything in between! This system of self-defense is especially practical for women, because when women are attacked, they are almost always attacked from behind and taken to the ground. Crutchfield’s Hawaiian Kenpo techniques can help women who find themselves in these situations. A woman that learns to use an effective “guard” position would be able to subdue her attacker by using proper strikes, chokes, pressure points, or joint locks. Kids love it for the simple fact they get a chance, in a supervised environment, to do all the “roughhousing” that their parents ask them not to do at home. All while learning the fundamentals of an effective skill that they will have for the rest of their lives.
What programs are offered at Crutchfield's?
We offer group lessons that are open to adults of all skill levels. These classes concentrate mostly on stand up and ground self-defense situations; which involve techniques, strikes, chokes, locks etc. We also have private lessons so that Shihan Crutchfield or one of our highly qualified instructors can address specific needs at a time that works for you. I have no experience in martial arts, can I still train?
YES! Crutchfield’s Hawaiian Kenpo is very easy to learn and to apply. In a very short period you will have the skills needed to defend yourself and your loved ones.
